New Roots Project

Project supported by “ici. here together.”
Next edition: January 2027
After a successful pilot in Spring 2026, Remote Roots is preparing the next edition of New Roots, which is planned to start in January 2027.
New Roots brings together young people who have recently moved to Zurich with young people who have lived in the city for longer. Participants are matched by shared interests, passions or personal backgrounds and meet regularly over three months to discover Zurich together.
Whether it’s hiking, visiting a museum, trying a new café or attending a cultural event, each tandem chooses its own activities. In addition to the tandem meetings, participants are invited to community events to connect with other tandems and expand their network.
Participation is free and every tandem receives a budget for shared activities.
Möchtest du mitmachen? / Want to join?

“ici. here together.” is a programme by the Foundation for the Promotion of Language and Education in cooperation with Migros Commitment, the Swiss Migration Commission EKM, the Conference of Integration Delegates KID and the Swiss Conference of Specialist Units for Integration KoFI.
